Posredujemo vam vabilo na mesečni seminar predstavitev dela EUTOPIA-SIF raziskovalcev, ki bo potekal v četrtek, 3. aprila 2025 ob 13.00 na ZOOM-u (povezava: https://cyu-fr.zoom.us/j/92790060737?pwd=Qt4flc1wroPyjNo7Kj9GN1nt0IOMA9.1) . Spremljanje vsebine seminarja omogoča dober vpogled v mednarodne raziskovalne aktivnosti, ki potekajo pod okriljem zveze EUTOPIA. Program je na voljo spodaj. Predstavitev bo imel tudi raziskovalec dr. Marko Verce, ki prihaja iz UL, Biotehniške fakultete.
Vljudno vabljeni vsi raziskovalci, pedagogi in tudi strokovni sodelavci, ki bi jih predstavljene tematike lahko zanimale. Prosim, če vabilo delite z njimi.

Within the framework of the EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship Programme, monthly fellow’s seminars will take place, in which the 40 researchers enrolled in the two cohorts will in turn present their research projects.

| Project Title | Bifidobacteria in water kefir – who are their neighbours and how do they get along? | |
| Abstract | Water kefir is a fermented drink and a healthier alternative to overly sweet soft drinks. It is made by fermenting sugary water with dried fruits using water kefir grains, which host the water kefir microbial community. Interactions between water kefir yeasts and lactic acid bacteria have been explored before, but we are only now, in this project, uncovering how bifidobacteria interact with other water kefir microorganisms. New knowledge obtained through microbial community-level analyses and culture-based experiments will make steps towards a better understanding of water kefir and the bifidobacteria in it, ultimately improving control over the water kefir microbial community. | |

| Project Title | C-Impact. Compound Impacts in MultiPle sectors Attributed to Climate Trends | |
| Abstract | The C-IMPACT project explores how human-caused climate change affects different sectors, especially when extreme events happen synchronized. Using well-established scientific methods, we analyze a new database (ISIMIP3b) that collects climate impact data. A key focus is understanding how climate change influences events that occur at the same time or are connected. Our findings will improve knowledge about climate change’s role in these impacts and help shape policies for reducing risks and strengthening resilience. This research is essential for developing better strategies to protect communities and infrastructure from the growing challenges of extreme weather and climate-related events. | |
