Who is this programme for?

Are you a curious and open person who is interested in the world and the people around you? Do you enjoy reading social science and humanities literature? Do you like working with children, adolescents, adults, or seniors? Would you like to contribute to building a community that is more friendly and inclusive for all? Then this study programme is for you.

As a future social pedagogue, you will be able to work in kindergartens, primary schools, educational institutions, prisons, and non-governmental organisations such as youth centres, associations, and more. You will look at the world beyond the usual frameworks and contribute to creating solutions for the challenges communities face. You will be able to help reduce social exclusion and deprivation.

What is study like?

The study of social pedagogy is designed interdisciplinarily, combining theoretical and practical knowledge from the fields of psychology, pedagogy, social pedagogy, philosophy, and sociology, with a strong emphasis on personal development. Throughout the programme, there will be continuous integration of theory and practical experiences, which you will gain through internships in various institutions and non-governmental organisations.

Programme objectives

Throughout the programme, you can expect to deepen your understanding of individuals and groups who are socially excluded and disadvantaged, as well as the circumstances that create such conditions.

You will be trained to provide support and lead counseling processes for individuals and groups in different life stages and circumstances.

You will also develop the ability to reflect on your personal and professional development, with the programme offering you the capacity to guide your own professional growth.

Fieldwork in the subject of Experiential pedagogy

I chose to study Social Pedagogy due to my desire to work with people who find themselves in difficult life situations and my drive to promote cooperation, solidarity, and mutual aid in society. Over the five years, I gained extensive knowledge about pedagogy, working with marginalized groups, and psychology, and learned a great deal about myself, ultimately finding my calling. I was able to develop my competencies through study exercises and practical experience provided by the faculty, as well as voluntary and student work, which I actively engaged in. Upon completing my studies, I can pursue work that brings me joy and fulfill the desire that led me to enroll in social pedagogy.
