Recording of the Lecture by Prof. Michael A. Ranney, Berkeley School of Education

The UNESCO Chair on Teacher Education for Sustainable Development at the University of Ljubljana hosted Prof. Michael Andrew Ranney from the Berkeley School of Education (University of California) on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. In his lecture, titled “12 Vetted Ways, Using Good Information, to Upgrade Folks’ Global Warming Beliefs with No Polarization,” he presented twelve evidence-based methods for improving people’s beliefs about global warming through the use of quality information -without causing polarization.

His research demonstrates that even brief scientific explanations – e.g. in the form of videos, climate statistics, or texts that explain either the physico-chemical mechanisms behind global warming or the reasons why climate scientists deserve trust -significantly increase acceptance of the fact that global warming is caused by human activity.

We are sharing the recording of the lecture.
