Who is this programme for?

The Master’s programme in Speech and language therapy is a content continuation of the undergraduate studies. At the same time, it enables the deepening of knowledge and experience in specific areas, the development of the ability to critically assess diagnostic and therapeutic instruments, methods, and programmes, and it prepares students to seek new sources of knowledge and to apply scientific-research methods to complex issues in this field, as well as to assume responsibility for managing the most demanding work systems.

What is study like?

Due to the high interdisciplinarity of the field, second-cycle studies are the minimum requirement for successful independent practice as a future Master Speech and Language Therapist.

Programme objectives

  • Deepening Knowledge and Skills: Enhance knowledge and skills in both fundamental and applied disciplines—including pedagogy, medicine, and linguistics—taking into account the interdisciplinary nature that is crucial at the Master’s level. These competencies enable independent practice as a speech and language therapist and provide a basis for continuing studies at the third cycle (doctoral studies), as well as for engaging in various forms of continuous professional development.
  • Critical Analysis and Research: Develop the ability to critically monitor and reflect upon the latest developments in theory and practice, and to search for new sources of knowledge using scientific-research methods for more complex issues in the field of speech and language therapy.
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Competence: Achieve proficiency in using diagnostic tools and in carrying out advanced interventions related to communication, hearing, speech, and language.
  • Collaborative and Leadership Skills: Foster collaborative and teamwork skills and enhance communication abilities necessary for leading group processes.
