Centre for Cognitive Science

Centre for Cognitive Science at the Faculty of Education, University of Ljubljana, brings together educators and researchers who work in the broader field of cognitive science. Within the centre, there is also the Laboratory for Empirical Phenomenology (Observatory), whose primary activity is the study of experiential aspects of cognitive phenomena such as thinking, remembering, mind-wandering, and decision-making.

Main Activities of the Centre

Educational: conducting, coordinating, and supporting interdisciplinary study programs in the field of cognitive science.

Scientific Research: Scientific research work in the areas of neuroeducation, neuroethics, empirical phenomenology, neurophenomenology, and other interdisciplinary intersections of the constituent disciplines of cognitive science.

Additional Activities of the Centre

  • Supporting the collaboration of researchers and research institutions in interdisciplinary projects in the field of cognitive science
  • Support for the collaboration between research, educational, and business entities and other forms of application of cognitive science findings
  • Organization of scientific meetings, seminars, conferences, and other forms of education
  • Publication of occasional professional, scientific, and popular science publications
  • Promoting the scientific research work of the centre
  • Involvement in international research and professional work
  • Active involvement of UL students in the scientific research work of the centre
