About Library

The library located at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana has evolved from the library of the Higher Pedagogical School, which was established in 1947.

In 1990, the library gained the status of a higher education library. It offers a rich selection of domestic and foreign professional literature, particularly in the fields of pedagogy and other sciences relevant to the study programmes and curriculum of the faculty.

The library primarily serves students and employees at the faculty, as well as other users.

A special feature of the library is the open access to most of its collection. The library offers 80 reading spaces for users. Special attention is given to access to electronic publications and open science.

• Remote access to subscribed e-journals, e-books, and other informational e-resources and databases (e.g., DiKUL); (instructions for logging into DiKUL)

• Loan of library materials for home use and in the reading room

• “My Profile” services (My Library) via COBISS+ and mCOBISS

• Notifications on new arrivals through monthly sections: Magazines – Monthly News, Book News, Selected 10
• Interlibrary loan for faculty employees and doctoral students
• Bibliography management for higher education teachers and staff and advice on scholarly publishing
• Information literacy services for users
• Development of online guides
• Publication of the UL PEF Library Bulletin
