Conditions for Enrolment and Criteria for Selection in the case of Limited Enrolment
Enrolment places are foreseen for up to 30 students.
Conditions for enrolment
Candidates can enrol who have completed:
A) a first cycle study programme from an appropriate prior professional area (Paragraph 1, Article 38.a HEA) to the extent of 240 ECTS from the area ISCED 14 (Teacher Education and Education Sciences), as well as ISCED 72 (Health), Speech and Language Therapy Programme.
B) a first cycle study programme to the extent of 240 ECTS from other professional areas (Paragraph 2, Article 38.a HEA), provided that prior to enrolment the candidate has completed all of the study obligations required for the continuation of study and demonstrates previously acquired knowledge and competences from the area of Speech and Language Therapy.
C) a second cycle study programme to the extent of 180 ECTS from other professional areas (Paragraph 2, Article 38.a HEA), provided that prior to enrolment the candidate has completed all of the study obligations required for the continuation of study and demonstrates previously acquired knowledge and competences from the area of Speech and Language Therapy.
D) a high school professional study programme and university study programme to the extent of 180 ECTS accepted according to the legal regulations valid since 2004 from the area ISCED 14 Teacher Education and Education Sciences, and ISCED 72 (Health), Speech and Language Therapy Programme. Prior to enrolment the candidate must complete all of the study obligations required for the continuation of study and demonstrate previously acquired knowledge and competences from the area of Speech and Language Therapy.
E) a high school professional study programme to the extent of 180 ECTS from other professional areas, provided that prior to enrolment the candidate has completed all of the study obligations required for the continuation of study and demonstrates previously acquired knowledge and competences from the area of Speech and Language Therapy.
Candidates from points B), C) and E) must also demonstrate:
- special talent
- psychophysical ability
- appropriate work experience
Criteria for selection in the case of limited enrolment
The faculty passes a resolution on the limitation of enrolment if the number of applications that fulfil all of the general conditions for enrolment significantly exceeds the number of available study places. In this case, the selection of candidates is undertaken on the basis of the following criteria (Article 41 of the HEA):
- the average grade achieved in study in the first cycle (60%)
- the grade of a degree or other form of conclusion of study (20%)
- a selection exam, in which the candidate demonstrates a familiarity with content from audiology and electroacoustics, phonetics, methods of working with the deaf/hard of hearing, methods of speech therapy on the first level (20%)
The candidate can also demonstrate competences from the third paragraph with suitable certificates of completed education in appropriate areas previously undertaken by the candidates. Appropriate knowledge acquired in undergraduate education over and above 180 ECTS can also be taken into account. If in previous study the candidate did not complete a degree or other form of conclusion of study the average grade in the first cycle is taken into account to the extent of 70%.
Conditions for Advancement through the Programme
Conditions for Advancing from Year to Year
For candidates who undertake the programme as full-time or part-time study and to the basic extent of 60 ECTS there are no conditions for advancement (the study has a duration of only one year).
Conditions for Repeating a Year
The student can repeat a year providing that in the time of the study programme he or she gains at least 18 ECTS from the list of professional obligatory and/or professional elective modules (according to Article 152 of the UL Statute).
Conditions for Concluding Study
In order to conclude study the student must gain all of the foreseen credit points from all of the appropriate parts of the programme. In this regard, credit points gained in other higher education institutions both in Slovenia and abroad (mobility) can be taken into account, as can credit points gained on the basis of recognised knowledge and skills (see point 4.7 of the application for gaining approval) providing these points have been gained in accordance with the UL Statute and the rules of the FEd, and have been confirmed by the faculty organs.
Irrespective of the provision of the previous paragraph, candidates enrolling in the second cycle programme must gain at least 30 ECTS in a FEd UL study programme and at least 24 ECTS from the professional module of this programme.
