TOMA STRLE is an assistant professor at the University of Ljubljana, a philosopher and cognitive scientist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy (thesis topic: conscious will, action and free will) and a doctorate in philosophy of cognitive science (PhD topic: the role of metacognition in decision-making).

His current research interests include decision-making, the relation between first- and third-person approaches to researching and understanding the human mind, embodied and enactive cognition, consciousness, self-referential nature of the human mind, and the emerging interdisciplinary fields such as neurolaw and neuroeducation.

Recently, he has become quite interested in the many intersections between behavioural insight (and the nudge programme), cognitive science and behaviour modification/manipulation by “big data algorithms”, and ethical questions and social consequences thereof.
