The Centre for Discrete Mathematics of the Faculty of Education of the University of Ljubljana (CDM) was established in 2011. The members of the CDM UL FEd are mainly involved in the research of the graph theory, particularly of its algebraic aspects, but also of its topological and algorithmic aspects.

This is the juncture of a range of mathematical fields, in which, in order to study the symmetrical characteristics of graphs, the researchers employ knowledge and tools  of linear algebra, abstract algebra, and the theory of permutation groups, as well as various topological, geometric and combinatorial tools. Theoretical analyses are also frequently supported by computer investigations. In their research work, the members of the Centre collaborate with numerous distinguished experts from abroad, and the results of their work are regularly published in international scientific journals.
